The practice of denying individuals the traditional burial space and burying them in a different pit, reserved for those without rituals is called തെമ്മാടിക്കുഴി (Themmadikuzhi) in Kerala. The fear and shame of such exclusion can dictate the choices not only of those individuals, but also their families. What is the price that those who choose to live and love differently have to pay?
I have been working on this book since 2017. An important book that took seven years to reach its final form. This book was exhibited at the Museum of Art Photography as part of the Mindscape project (April - August 2023).
